BYU-Idaho Fitness Activities hosted a “Yogathon” with a Best Pajama Contest on Wednesday at John W. Hart Auditorium.
For information about upcoming fitness activities, classes, and events, students can visit the group’s website, Instagram, or I-Belong.
The yogathon provided college students with an opportunity to relax and try out each yoga instructor’s style.
“…All four of us instructors teach for about 20 minutes,” said Tim Orgill, a yoga instructor for two and a half years.
Orgill said whoever comes will have a chance to experience each different style., You can then decide which instructor you like best or want to try out a full class with.
“I think it makes me very happy when someone comes up to me after class and says they really needed that,” Orgill said.. “As you know, classes are crazy. This semester has been crazy. Life is busy, so this was just what I needed to calm down and de-stress.”
Kendra Herrod, who has been a yoga instructor for a year, says her favorite part of teaching students is helping others clear their heads and relax.
“We can have regulars and new people come in and see their progress,” Herod said. “I see more people coming to class and having fun, and I see them leaving smiling, having a good time, and feeling relaxed.”
