When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, “work out more” always ranks at or near the top of most lists. Montgomery County is making it easy to make that resolution a reality.
Montgomery County Recreation’s RecFit passes will be free again to county residents in 2024. Your free RecFit pass gives you access to fitness rooms, open gym (drop-in) activities, and game rooms at all community recreation centers.
The county offered free RecFit passes for the first time last year, and the number of passes issued has increased dramatically from 26,065 in 2022 to more than 100,000 in 2023.
“One of the most popular services we provide our residents is free access to the county’s fitness center,” County Executive Mark Elrich said in a statement.
Residents can work out on equipment in the fitness room, play table tennis in the game room, or participate in drop-in pickleball, volleyball, basketball, and other activities.
Passes can be purchased during regular business hours at recreation centers throughout the county. To receive a free pass, county residents must present proof of residency (valid photo ID with address or photo ID with current utility bill). Out-of-county residents can purchase a pass at a price of $20 for one month, $80 for six months, or $150 for one year. Visit our website for more information.
Passes issued in 2023 are still valid and a new pass is not required.
