Russia on Friday launched its deadliest airstrike against Ukraine since the start of the war, killing at least 16 civilians, officials said.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said about 110 Russian-made missiles and numerous drones targeted areas across the country, including maternity wards, schools, hospitals, residential buildings and commercial areas.
Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk called it “the most massive attack from the air” on the messaging app Telegram.
“Today, Russia had almost all kinds of weapons: Kinzhal, S-300, cruise missiles, drones. Strategic bombers fired X-101/X-505 missiles. In total about approx. 110 missiles were launched against Ukraine, “most of which were shot down,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. said in X.
He added: “We will respond to any terrorist attack. And we will continue to fight for the safety of our entire country, our cities, and our people. We can and will lose to Russian terrorism.”
At least 16 people were killed in the strike, according to the latest tally from various regional authorities.
