WYOMING, MI – Two people were injured in a shooting at a Walmart on Sunday, according to Wyoming police.
Police responded to several calls about a shooting at the Walmart at 355 SW 54th Street in Wyoming around 6 p.m.
Police said the shooting occurred after an altercation between two suspects and a male victim, who was shot but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Police said the victim arrived at the hospital minutes after the shooting and police began investigating.
Police said the second victim, a woman, was not the target of the shooting. Police say her injuries are not life-threatening and she is being treated at a hospital.
Police said there were two suspects and that the shooting occurred near the front of the store near the cash register. Police said at least 10 shots were fired.
At the time the photo was taken, the store was full and had to be evacuated. The store will be closed at night.
The two suspects have not yet been found. Police said one of the suspects was wearing a black parka-like winter coat with fur around his collar, a red sweatshirt and black pants. The second suspect was wearing light-colored pants and a black sweatshirt.
Police said both suspects were wearing masks, so no photos have been released at this time.
“It’s scary, scary,” Wyoming Police Department Lt. Andrew Kohler said. “But we want the public to know that all of our resources are working on this issue.”
Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
“If you have any information, please help us solve this problem,” Kohler said.
