Theme Park Insider readers have once again ranked Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure as the best theme park in the world. Islands of Adventure came out on top in the year-end reader survey to determine this year’s Theme Park Insider Award winners, released this morning.
Since Theme Park Insider Awards began in 2002, Islands has won the Top Theme Park Insider Awards nine times. Looking at our reader rankings for Top Attractions and Top Roller Coasters, it’s easy to see what the park has to offer, with three of the top attractions ranking in the top five. reader survey and two of the top three roller coasters.
Universal Orlando’s second gate opened in 1999 and set a new standard for parkland theming. In 2010, the park raised the bar once again with the opening of Universal’s first Wizarding World of Harry Potter Land. With multiple affordable themed hotels within walking distance and a relatively hassle-free visiting experience, Universal Orlando has become Walt’s main destination for many of his theme park fans looking for an alternative to Disney World. It has become a land.
But don’t get me wrong. Islands of Adventure is not a replacement for anything on a budget. An industry leader in theme, storytelling and thrills, Theme Park is once again a top choice for his Insider readers around the world.
